Founded in 2023 by Jill Bauwens, THE IRISH TWIN is a Paris-based brand offering artisanal dresses and accessories, all manufactured in France. This slow-conscious label produces only what is necessary while supporting a local Parisian atelier.
Born in 1989, only eleven months apart, Jill and her sister Steffy are Irish Twins. For the last decade, they worked as a creative duo for several fashion houses. They have since parted ways, leading Jill to found THE IRISH TWIN.
Jill grew up in Antwerp, Belgium, and became a professional model in 2008. During this time, she gained valuable insight into the fashion world and gradually shifted careers. In 2014, she was named co-creative director for The Kooples before working alongside Olivier Theyskens for several years.
With THE IRISH TWIN, Jill applies her understanding of the fabrication process to her passions: celebrating the joy of bringing people together and making them feel special. Her vision speaks to everyday desires, drawing inspiration from the allure of dressing up and the art of living to the fullest. Every creation expresses a sense of occasion and captivates the eye. Jill sees fashion as a form of creative expression, where dressing up becomes an escape into beauty.
The RTW line is called “Host-wear,” reflecting the belief that entertaining is an art form and dressing up is a key part of it. Each piece is meticulously crafted by hand in Paris, using eco-friendly materials and unique techniques.
